In 2019, Fisher-Price recalled its Lock & Place slippers after more than 30 infant deaths since their launch in 2009. *** The company and the Consumer Product Safety Commission knew about the deaths and injuries as early as 2012, according to the Home Oversight report. CPSC said 70 additional deaths have been reported since the recall, eight of which occurred after it announced the *** restatement in 2023. Recall notification. I mean this country really stinks and unfortunately there is no single policy solution that can make everything right. I mean, we all have to do better. So what can you do before buying something? Check out saferproducts.gov. This is the CPSC site where you can file and read complaints. You can search by brand and by product type. Heck, there have been dozens of complaints and that might give you a clue. Maybe *** you should look for another brand. Registering big-ticket items, especially baby products like car seats and strollers, will ensure that the company will contact you in the event of a recall***. For vehicles, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration provides a *** tool on its website to search for recalls associated with the vehicle identification number, also known as the VIN.
