Phoenix – Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs has launched an initiative with the Arizona Department of Health Services to help Arizonans save on prescription drugs.
What we know:
The initiative AZRxStarting Monday, November 3, residents can sign up for a discount card through ArrayRx, a multi-level public pharmacy partnership the province joined last year. AZRx allows states to negotiate lower drug prices for the critical prescriptions people rely on.
The ArrayRx discount card is provided free of charge to residents with a valid Arizona address, regardless of insurance status. Each family member must have his or her own, and there are no age or income restrictions.
This can help Arizona residents save up to 80% on prescription drug costs.
What is covered/not covered:
All FDA-approved medications are covered, along with some over-the-counter medications and diabetes supplies.
If your insurance doesn’t cover a particular drug or the price is higher, the discount card covers FDA-approved prescriptions, including mail order and specialty drugs found almost anywhere across the country. 1,200 Arizona pharmacies.
Prescriptions for animals are not covered by the discount card.
ArrayRx cannot be combined with insurance or other discount cards.

The governor’s office added that ArrayRx continues to drive cost savings and improved health outcomes by “providing more security” for individuals who have lost insurance and are struggling with coverage and for those managing their maintenance medications.

ADHS Office of Health Engagement and Impact administrators encourage all residents to sign up for this money-saving opportunity, said Dana Marie Kennedy, AARP’s Arizona State Director. It was called the lifeline.
