Bedminster, NJ (KY3/Gray News) – A pharmaceutical company recalled thousands of bottles of its cholesterol medication because they did not dissolve properly when taken.
According to US Food and Drug AdministrationAscend Laboratories in New Jersey has initiated a voluntary recall of more than 140,000 bottles of atorvastatin calcium tablets.

The recall includes 90-count bottles of the company’s 10-milligram, 20-milligram, 40-milligram and 80-milligram tablets.
The FDA says this Class II A recall means that the product may cause adverse health effects that may be temporary or medically reversible.
