SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, CA – The following is a statement from the Lake Tahoe Area Presbyterian Church (LTCPC) Board of Trustees regarding South Lake Tahoe Mayor Tamara Wallace’s confession of embezzlement of church funds. They posted this statement on their Facebook page on Tuesday.

Tamara Wallace has publicly admitted to committing serious crimes against the Lake Tahoe Community Presbyterian Church. Once this was discovered by the church, her employment was terminated on September 26, 2025 and the matter was referred to law enforcement as appropriate. She did not attend our church and was not a member. Our church has suffered tremendous loss, and as we address this loss and its impact, we remain committed to prayer, compassion, transparency, and justice.
