Lancing-Michigan University Health and Sparlow said that a new partnership with a national provider will help to increase access to behavioral health services and to deal with the “mid-time behavioral health crisis.”

UM -SPARROW said that Sheppard Pratt, a national supplier, will supervise the planned behavioral health hospital on the Old Lansing Eastern High School site and wait for the approval of the Michigan Resent’s board. The Health Organization described Sheppard Pratt as “the largest private mental health/material (abuse) service/developmental disability/special education and social welfare providers.”

Margaret Dimond of UM Health Regional Network said, “We are working to solve the behavioral health crisis at the University of Michigan. It will help you to recruit the best behavioral health doctors and other providers to the area using your reputation. ”

Sheppard Pratt will supervise the current spirit and service of the health system and expand the provision of behavioral health for children and adolescents, said UM Health -Sparrow. UM Health-Sparrow said in a new hospital that it will manage the current 59 bed behavioral health of adults and elderly patients until 88 inpatient beds, new children and youth inpatients and outpatient treatment services are held.

The goal of the new facility is one day in 2028.

According to the UM Health-Sparrow, about 1.7 million microbinal residents have mental health and almost 40%are not treated. With an average of 17 adolescents, more than 100 adults are sitting in the emergency room waiting place every day. In addition, more than 500,000 Missy Aids have an untreated drug abuse disorder, according to health care providers.

“Every day, 30 patients need help with urgent mental health problems that pass through the door of the UM Health-Sparrow Lansing emergency room,” he said. “These are our friends, relatives and our children, and it takes an average of 3-4 days to find facilities to take care of them.”
