i drink alcohol Protein shake every morning. It doesn’t tear or swell (of course it does), it’s quick, easy, and doesn’t spike your blood sugar. You can throw a handful of berries and peanut butter into your blender for a dose of fiber and vitamins while you’re running around the house to drop the kids off at school in the morning. You’re probably getting enough protein anyway. But if you, too, are looking for an alternative breakfast or snack idea, I’m a fan.
My personal protein powder is Be Well By Kelly Chocolate Grass-fed Beef ($60)But I fully acknowledge that you don’t have to eat like Gaston to meet your daily protein requirements. Orgain’s protein powder is a blend of pea, brown rice, chia, and mung bean proteins that contain all nine essential amino acids, 21 grams of protein per serving, 4 grams of fiber and prebiotics, and 15 grams of carbohydrates. It’s also surprisingly creamy considering it’s dairy-free.
Optimum Whey, the best protein powder, is also $5 off. This is a favorite of gym rats for understandable reasons. It’s cheap, widely available, and delicious. Reviewer Boutayna Chokrane adds a few tablespoons of flour to her banana bread for baking.
Promix Grass-Fed Whey Isolate, an athlete’s favorite protein powder, is also available. Promix microfilters contain less than 1g of lactose, making them a great choice for sensitive stomachs. Each serving provides 30g of protein, 6.6g of BCAAs, and 14.2g of essential amino acids. The nail texture of Promix also has no roughness here. It goes well with shakes and baked goods.
