The army unveils more powerful fitness tests, and experts have difficulty.

“Army Strong” is more than just a tag line. For soldiers, it is a requirement of duty.

The US Army requires that all active soldiers will prove their physical abilities by passing a strict fitness test. There have been several versions of tests over the years, and the military has recently announced that it has been adopted.

On June 1, 2025, the military branch will now launch a new Army Fitness Test (AFT) to replace the Army Combat Fitness Test (ACFT).

Oxford studies reduce the risk of cancer to walk in certain stages every day.

According to the Army press release, a new test based on “18 months of data analysis and feedback of thousands of tests” will introduce an updated score standard that emphasizes “preparation and combat effect.”

Soldiers will not face “adverse actions” by January 1, 2026, but will meet new fumes requirements.

AFT scores are recorded during basic training for soldiers and initial training for officers.

Active soldiers must complete the test twice a year, and soldiers in the Army Protection Area and Army Defense Forces must score once a year.

Exercise can prevent cognitive decline even if there is an energy delay.

SGT said, “AFT is designed to improve military preparation, ensure body standards, and prepare for soldiers in preparation for the demands of modern wars: Christopher Mullinax Director, Senate Leader, Army Headquarters, and Deputy Director.

“This emphasizes the overall physical strength of each event and is based on performance.”

“AFT is designed to improve military preparation, ensure physical standards, and prepare soldiers in preparation for the demands of modern wars.”

Soldiers, along with soldiers in the battle, are required to score new tests.

“The combat standard is a sex neutral about 21 direct combat roles and has been designed to ensure fairness and preparation for operation.”

5 test components

The rear consists of the following five events as described on the Army website.

1.3-repetition maximum drift

In this challenge, the soldier must use a 60 -pound hexagon bar and a plate to listen to the maximum weight as much as possible.

This movement assesses muscle strength, balance and flexibility.

Miles Hill, a certified personal trainer and boxing instructor in New York City, said, “Dead Lift requires a person to recruit glutes and hamstring strengths for a person to lift Babel from the ground to the waist.” This is the most effective technology for choosing heavy weight from the ground. “

Dr. Hooman Melamed, a orthopedic spine surgeon and sports medicine expert at Beverly Hills, can be a dangerous leg lift for civilians when inadequate forms are used.

“Possible. But you just need to train smart and progressive.”

Fox News Digital said, “If your posture or form is turned off, you can have a high risk of your back and buttocks and can be an end -of -care end injury to some people.”

2. Hand Release Push Up

Soldiers must complete many hand -release push -ups in two minutes using appropriate technology.

“Hand release push up has to fall to the ground, raise hands in the air for 1 second, and then push back to high boards,” said TAEKWONDO’s 2nd degree black belt.

Detective NYPD shares a cruel exercise to motivate the police to have a body.

Melamed pointed out that hand release push -ups can help build up their upper body, but if people are not yet strong, sudden power can damage the shoulders.

Hand release push up tests muscle endurance and flexibility.

3. Sprint drag carry

If you use the SPRINT-DRAG-CARRY (SDC), the soldier must complete the 50-meter shuttle (sprint, drag, side, carriage, and sprint) as soon as possible using two 40-pound kettlebells and 90 pound sleds.

“It’s probably the hardest sequence because the sprint drag carri is probably explosive, muscle endurance and cardiovascular endurance.”

Melamed calls SDC a “cruel test of speed and explosive power.”

“If there is no condition, it can happen to tear the hamstring or pull something in the middle,” he said.

4. Park

Soldiers must maintain the appropriate board position for as long as possible to test muscle endurance and balance.

Hill said, “The board is the ultimate test of core strength and endurance.” It can be challenging, but deciding to challenge is a time requirement. “

Crunch with age: How many things can be done here

Melamed pointed out that this movement looks simple, but it is very difficult to catch the right planks for time. “It reveals the weaknesses of the back, core and shoulders.”

2. Running 2 miles

Soldiers must complete two -mile running on a flat outdoor course in aerobic endurance test.

Hill said, “Runs of two miles are relatively easy for competent people, but time constraints are difficult.

The Standing Power Throw event, which was part of the previous version of the test, is no longer included as a requirement.

Mullinax said, “We have removed the standing power because we did not effectively promote physical strength, preparation and preparation.

“In addition, it encouraged the risk of excessive use injuries and to focus on technology rather than showing true power.”

How hard is it?

According to Dr. Jason Perry, a primary medical sports doctor with Baptist Health Orthopedic Care in Deerfield Beach, Florida, the toughness of exercise or fitness test is associated with the overall physical strength of the individual.

This smart exercise tip is suitable for 40s and after that.

“Generally speaking, the tumi is challenging, but it is not impossible for ordinary people with basic fitness foundation.”

“This is designed to test systemic strength, muscle endurance, speed, agility and cardiovascular health. It is all essential elements for battle preparation, but it is also related to the functional suitability of civilians.”

Compared to the typical gymnasium, the rear is more difficult because it combines other physical areas with one test.

“It’s suitable but not easy compared to elite exercise training,” the Perry added.

Soldier Dead Lifting

He said that this test can be reached for civilians who regularly do trains, running or functional exercises (Crossfit or HIIT).

For civilians who practice 3-4 times a week, the rear is “realistically achieved” with training focused for 8 to 12 to 12 weeks.

“About 30-50%of healthy and recreational adults will be able to pass with less training,” he predicted. “Sitting adults or people with chronic diseases will have more difficult time and will have to pass the regulatory plan for 8 to 12 to 12 to 12 to 12 weeks (or more).”

Melamed was not optimistic and estimated that less than 5% of civilians could pass the rear.

“If this is not ready, you can seriously hurt.”

“This is not a weekend warrior movement. This is a military -level conditioning,” said Fox News Digital. “You should try to reach this level of strength training.”

Experts also pointed out that there are mental elements in the test, but the way of thinking is not enough.

“If you try this unprepared attempt, you can get serious wounds,” he warned. “Possible. But you have to work gradually with smart and progressive training.”

“And this test is about the strategy and recovery of primitive strength.”
