YouTube is cracking down on gambling content as sports betting and other online prediction markets begin in the United States.
The platform announced on Tuesday that it will not allow users to give gambling websites as “not approved” gambling websites through links, images, text, logos, or shoes. YouTube defines unlawful gambling sites as sites that are not reviewed by YouTube or parent company Google without meeting local legal requirements.
This update prohibits Youtube’s existing policies linking to external sites that violate rules, including unlawful gambling sites.
