The Oklahoma mental health and drug abuse service said that the House of Representatives would be paid as scheduled next week after warning that the House of Representatives had a lack of funds.
According to Kyle Hilbert speaking, the scheduled date of lack of funds was carried out from 2 weeks to May 21.
FOX23 talked about the lack of $ 66 million in the main mental health and drug abuse service (ODMHSAS).
For three weeks, members of the State Council are investigating the lack of budget.
Legislators are now racing for these employees to pay while investigating where $ 60 million went from ODMHSAS.
Some House of Representatives are investigating institutions.
In March, the mental health department had enough money to function until June, but not now.
FOX23 was heard by JOSH WEST representative in the selection committee that investigates institutions.
West said, “Like this department, ‘Wise will come out next time?” West said. “So it’s amazing that this came out, but it’s very important, and it’s much more related than we thought that we were back in March when we first came out that we had a problem with our money.”
We also talked with Pro Tem Lonnie Paxton, who talked about the frustration with ODMHSAS.
“They are taxpayers’ dollars that they spend to protect very vulnerable constituencies,” PAXTON said. “If you are lost here, we are the one we are trying to serve. I want to feel frustrated and try to hide, but I was frustrated.”
Fox23 contacted ODMHSAS to confirm this, and there are some of the statements they sent back.
ODMHSAS said in a statement that “ODMHSAS continues to explore the required operation and fiscal reform period.” “We are working closely with main leadership and governor’s office to ensure the continuity and stability of the service to the workforce while solving the long structural problems that influenced the institution.”
Kevin Stitt Governor has just announced that he will just step on himself to stabilize ODMHSA.
He sent the following letter to Hillbert and Fax Turn.
“The problem that has continued to appear in the Oklahoma mental health and drug abuse service is the result of wrong management for many years. This challenge did not occur overnight. When I appointed the Allie Friesen Commissioner, I saw her light on the agency, was more responsible, transparent and transmitted, with sincerity and emergency.”
You can read the entire letter here.
Stitt Governor said he is taking immediate measures as follows.
- National independent financial experts will take over the department’s finances.
- The lawyer performs the entire review of the institution.
- ODMHSAS’s top -level review of all federal funds
The State Council may pass the supplementary fund to immediately add to the agency’s budget next week.
If necessary, there is also a fund on the rainy day.
The FOX23 has heard that the Governor’s office is working with ODMHSAS to see if employees classify everything and have their main budgets.
FOX23 also contacted a contractor contracted with ODMHSA, such as Tulsa’s Grand Mental Health. They told us that they were not influenced by the issue of the state agency.
