Former President Barack Obama rallied voters in Newark, New Jersey, Saturday evening, urging them to vote for Democratic gubernatorial candidate Mickey Sherrill in 2024 as the state swings to the right.
“There is absolutely no evidence that Republican policies have made life better for the people of New Jersey,” said Obama, who attended a rally earlier in the day to support Virginia Democratic gubernatorial candidate Abigail Spanberger.
Obama slammed Sherrill’s Republican opponent, businessman Jack Ciattarelli.
Obama also criticized Ciattarelli for telling President Donald Trump he would give him an ‘A’ grade for his performance.
“I know there’s been rating inflation, but really? A? Is this the best we can do? I mean, these are the same people who put secret war plans in group chats,” he said, referring to the Trump administration’s Signal chat scandal. “Do you think there’s nothing they can do better?”
Cheryl repeated her absurd speech, attacking Trump and presenting herself as the antidote to his policies for New Jersey residents.
“We have to take Trump and all the hits that come out of Washington, D.C.,” she said. “Because now the president is on a global extortion racket. As Trump pockets billions of dollars, we have to pay more for everything from the coffee we drink in the morning to the groceries we prepare for dinner at night.”
