According to a new study, healthy diets (mainly vegetable plants with moderate amounts of animal foods such as processed foods, fish and dairy) may be more likely to reach 70 without chronic diseases.

research, Published on Monday In the Nature Medicine Journal, more than 105,000 people in middle -aged people analyzed that less than 10% of people achieved “healthy aging,” and found that they could not be damaged, and they did not develop depression or major chronic status, and could perform basic physical tasks such as climbing stairs or carrying grocery stores.

While eating healthy health, the analysis results show that participants will reach the milestones. This includes the eight specific diets evaluated, including the Mediterranean diet and strictly plant -based therapy, as well as the diet designed to lower inflammation or blood pressure.

“Most of this diet is that there is a lack of fruits and vegetables, whole grains, unsaturated fats, nuts, beans and processed meats, sugar and trans fats.

Previous studies have shown that foods rich in fruits and vegetables have low cholesterol and blood pressure and reduced heart disease or cancer risk. But most of this study did not assess the overall influence on people’s quality of life as people age, Guasch-perré said.

“This is not to live longer, but to maintain health in the second half of life,” she said.

The connection between health and diseases is the main dialogue of the Minister of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy JR., and has repeatedly condemned food additives and processed food consumption for the increase in chronic diseases in the United States.

This new study evaluated participants between 39 and 69 years from 1986 to 2016, and this group was selected from the two databases of a health professional, so it can be more conscious of health than the average. In addition to evaluating people’s mental and health at the age of 70, researchers have selected 11 chronic diseases, including cancer, diabetes, stroke, multiple sclerosis and Parkinson’s disease.

In particular, the alternative healthy eating habits designed to reduce chronic diseases were closest to healthy aging. The index consumes a small amount of fish, consumes at least five daily vegetables, and cuts at least four daily fruits, red meat, sugar sweet drinks and fruit juices.

Participants with the highest scores in the healthy eating habits were 86% more likely to be healthy aging.

The US -style guidelines are not completely attached to the index, and instead we recommend protein of at least three vegetable serving and at least two fruit servings and dried meat, poultry, fish, eggs, soybeans or nuts.

All eight diets in this study promoted fruits, vegetables and grains over red and processed meat. For example, the Mediterranean diet emphasizes healthy fats such as olive oil, fish and nuts, while hypertensive diets emphasize this approach to low -grain foods. The combination of these two people, Mind Diet, recommends people to eat strawberries to promote brain health.

Past studies have found a number of health benefits related to vegetarian or fully vegetarian diet, but GuaSch-Ferré suggests that middle-aged people do not need to be vegetarian to prevent disease.

“We can reduce animal food intake, but some can still be healthy,” she said.

This study does not deal with whether middle -aged healthy diets can reverse the negative impact of a poor diet in childhood or young adulthood.

“Our remarks are not generally too early and never too late,” said Stephen Kritchevsky, professor of Gerontology of Wake Forest University School of Medicine.

He added that diet is not the only factor that affects aging. He added that physical activity, stress and human genetic can also play a role.

Kritchevsky said, “If people want to be healthy, the four things in my heart are as follows. Main healthy weight, exercise, eat well, and smoke.”
