The agency said that health authorities are making efforts to identify those who are exposed.

What should I do if I am in the above position in the specified day and time?
VDH said there is a risk of measles if we have never received measles containing vaccines.
Those who are exposed and are considered to have a risk of measles should immediately contact the medical service provider.
Check the symptoms for 21 days after the potential exposure date. If you see measles symptoms, remove yourself immediately if you stay home. Please contact the medical provider immediately.
If you need to get a medical service, call the medical service provider’s office or the emergency room beforehand and ask for measles to call the Local Health Ministry. The phone announced that it will help to protect other patients and employees.
If you have an immunity, you should consult a medical service provider if you have a question or have symptoms.
If you have received a two -dose of measles, or if you are born before 1957, you do not need to be protected and take action.
If you receive a measles only once, you are likely to be protected and there is a very low risk of infection of measles caused by these exposure. But if you want to get the highest level of protection, please contact your medical service provider to get a second vaccine dose.
According to VDH, measles are a highly contagious disease that can be easily spread through air when an infected person breathes, coughs or sneezes. Measpy symptoms usually appear in two stages. In the first stage, most people have more than 101 degrees of heat, runny nose, and water with a lot of red eyes and coughing.
These symptoms usually begin 7-14 days after exposure. The second stage begins after three to five days after the symptoms began. The rash begins to appear on the face and spreads into the rest of the body. People with measles are contagious four days before the rash appears for four days after the rash appears.
To confirm the vaccination status, call the medical service provider or request a vaccination record using the VDH vaccination recording request form. Virginia residents with additional questions about potential exposure can send emails to EPI_RESPONESE@vdh.virginia.gov or contact the Regional Health Ministry.
