VHA’s recommendation adjustment initiative for recommended patterns and waiting time

The Veterans Health Bureau (VHA) started a recommendation adjustment initiative (RCI) in 2019 and helped to explore various medical options that were available to Veterans, improve schedules, and reduce the management burden on recommenders.

Partner’s Evidence -based Policy Resources Center (peprec) The RCI has posted simple information to explore whether it is related to the change in the ratio of VHA special management recommendation completed by a community provider, not a VHA provider, and the change of the average commitment waiting time for VHA and community providers. PEPREC is a team of health economists, public health research institutes and policy analysts who participate in policy admissions to improve the lives of veterans through advanced quantitative methods that are mostly funded by QUERI in the Veterans Health Bureau.
