Cases of measles are rising throughout the United States and reaching a level that cannot be seen for decades. Oklahoma avoided big onset, but health authorities are closely monitoring the situation due to the surge in Texas.
Doctors have a low vaccination rate, the increase in travel is behind the spike and urges the family to keep the boundary.

92%: Oklahoma Kindergarten with the latest MMR vaccination
According to the Oklahoma Health Ministry, 92%of the kindergarten in the state corresponds to measles, fashionability of the 2023-2024 school year.
Experts say that this high rate is helping to prevent the occurrence of Texas. However, even a community with low vaccine scope remains vulnerable.
Along with UTICA Park Clinic, Dr. Mandy Griffin said, “In Oklahoma, there are more sporadic cases than the big outbreaks seen in Texas at this point.”

2000: The year of measles removed in the United States was proclaimed.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has declared measles in the United States in 2000. This means that there is no continuous disease transmission for more than 12 months.
Currently, doctors say they are seeing the most measles in almost 30 years. This is a difficult trend to emphasize the importance of vaccination.
4: Main early symptoms to watch
Health officials are asking the parents and the public to watch the signs of measles after travel or potential exposure. The four major early symptoms are:
- having fever
- snot
- cough
- Rash (often start your face and spread)
White spots in the mouth, known as KOPLIK spots, can also appear in front of the rash.

Dr. Griffin says travel is a major factor in the spread of disease.
“It’s hard to predict, but nowadays, as the world becomes mobile and travels, many travel is part of the reason why we have too many cases,” she said.
