Cedar Rapids, IOWA (KCRG) -A October has become the month of breast cancer recognition since 1985. Annual celebrations raised millions of dollars for research and resources to help people fight the disease.
It’s especially a big problem every year. Iowa cancer Breast cancer shows that it is the most common type of cancer in the state. Iowa also has one of the highest cancer rates in the United States.
Dr. Ann Stroh of Mercy Cedar Rapids is a tumor specialist who helps people fight breast cancer for decades. She says that the situation of breast cancer patients has changed “huge” for many years.
