MONTCALM COUNTY, MICH. (WILX) -The fourth case of measles was confirmed in measles county in Michigan in 2025.
According to Michigan Health MinistryMONTCALM Co., who recently traveled out of the week Residents were diagnosed with measles.
It is not known at present if there are other exposure sites.

“In MMDHD, we take measures to protect, maintain and improve the health of the community. Measles are serious diseases, and we want to confirm that residents are safe.If you have recently traveled to an area where measles developed, you should be vaccinated as soon as possible.
Measles are very contagious, and up to nine -nine of people near measles are disease. You can spread the disease before the symptoms occur. Symptoms appear for about 7 to 14 days after contacting the virus.
Symptoms are as follows:
• High fever (can ride more than 104˚f or higher)
• cough
• runny nose
• Red, water eye (conjunctivitis)
• Small white spots on the inside of the cheeks, gums and mouths (KOPLIK spots)
• The rash that starts with a flat red spot on the face of the hairline spreads with trunks, arms and legs after 3-5 days after the symptoms begin. Small and uploaded bumps can appear on flat red spots.
Braddock said, “Measles can have serious side effects in some people, especially those under 5 years of age, or those who are immune.
Measles vaccines are the most effective ways to prevent viruses. It is still effective even if it is given within 72 hours after exposure to the virus.
