A new study that can lead to a promising strategy for life shows that taking vitamin D3 supplements every day to prevent biological aging for years.

In particular, the cells have seen the effect of supplement to telomeres, which prevented the decomposition of the DNA sequence at the end of the chromosome.
The protective cap of these chromosomes is shortened in the process of natural aging and is associated with the development of various age -related diseases.
Joann Manson, the co -author of Brigham and Women’s Hospital, said, “VITAL is the first massive and long -term random test that shows that vitamin D supplements protect telomeres and preserve telomeres.
“This is especially important because VITAL showed the benefits of vitamin D to reduce inflammation and lower the risk of chronic diseases such as immune diseases.”

Previously short -term study suggested that vitamin D or omega -3 fatty acid supplements were supported, but the results were inconsistent.
In an important exam, the researchers tracked the vitamin D3 (about 50 mcg per day) and omega -3 fatty acids (1g per day) for five years.
The telomeric length of white blood cells was evaluated at the baseline and about 1,054 participants in two and four years.
Researchers have shown that they have significantly reduced telomeres over four years to take vitamin D3 supplements.
“Compared to the placebo, vitamin D3 supplements have greatly reduced wearing white blood cell telomeres.”
This is the same as preventing “for almost three years of aging compared to placebo.”
But the omega -3 fatty acid replenishment did not have a significant impact on the length of telomeres during the follow -up period, they said.
“According to our research, the targeted vitamin D supplementation may be a promising strategy to fight the biological aging process, but further research is needed,” said Haidong Zhu, another author of the study.
“Vitamin D3 daily supplementation without omega 3 fatty acids can play a role in responding to telomeres or cell aging.”
