The Saarc tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS Center (STAC) in Bhaktapur, Nepal, demanded an interest in small research subsidies 2025.
Saarc tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS Center (STAC) are trying to accelerate progress toward sustainable development goals with the vision of freely making the Saarc region without tuberculosis (TB) and HIV/AIDS. Our task is to support national tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS control programs through evidence -based policy guidelines, coordination and technical support.
Small studies are granted subsidies in 2025.
The STAC invites interested research institutes to submit a brief interest (EOIS) to a research proposal related to tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS. Subsidies will be awarded for projects that focus on the effects of screening and diagnosis, prevention strategies, social and structural determinants, examples and treatment access, program evaluation and policy gaps, special population and emerging issues, and the effects of Covid-19 Pandemic related to TB and HIV programs.
Each subsidy is about US $ 10,000, and Saarc tuberculosis and Nepal HIV/AIDS Center support funds. The final water may be low, but may not exceed. US $ 10,000 This announcement does not guarantee funds for the submitted EOI or proposal.
The implementation period of all projects according to this EOI is up to 4 months, and it starts and completed between them. September 1 and November 30, 2025. Each applicant can submit up to two EOIs for projects associated with tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS, and is provided with support letter or delivery of national tuberculosis and/or HIV/AIDS control programs in each country.
eligibility
- Research institutions, including public research institutes, government agencies, universities and national tuberculosis and HIV programs in SAARC member countries with related field experience, can be applied.
- Applicants or research institutes should be preferably identifying domestic theme experts in the national tuberculosis or HIV/AIDS program, which will serve as direct supervisors of the project during the subsidy period.
Focusing area of the proposed project (topic)
1. Screening and diagnosis
Early and accurate diagnosis of TB, including potential TB and drug resistance TB.
Integration of TB Diagnosis, especially HIV tests for high risk and major population.
2. Prevention strategy
Prevention of tuberculosis between people living in HIV (plhiv): focuses on reducing incidence and infection, including the use of prevention (Prep) and prevention therapy.
Infection prevention and control (IPC) in medical and community environments.
3. Social and structural decision factors
Tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS vulnerability and gender, socioeconomic status and migration effects.
- Vulnerability mapping from urban slums and marginalized populations.
- Brigades, discrimination and other social barriers that affect access to diagnosis and treatment.
4. Find and treatment of cases
Strategy to improve and reduce case discovery of diagnosis and treatment of TB and HIV/AIDS.
- Treatment and patient support system, especially vulnerable and compliant between high -risk groups.
5. Program evaluation and policy gap
- Eanvaluation of Public Health Program: Advocacy, Community Participation and Arbitration Effect.
- Analysis of policy gaps of tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS programs, including identification D service and continuous treatment.
- Operation research to optimize program implementation and service integration
6. Special population and emerging problems
- PWID (drugs injecting drugs): The spacing of continuum and TB for those living in HIV.
- Children, adolescents and other vulnerable groups: unique challenges of prevention, diagnosis and treatment.
7. The influence of covid-19 pandemicics
- TB and HIV/AIDS detection, treatment and consequences of fashion health impact assessment.

- A complete project proposal, including affiliates, contact email addresses and signatures of the principal and co -investigator; Concept notes with budget analysis and estimated timeline
- Principal Investigator’s CV
- Organizational profile (if you apply for an institution other than the National TB or HIV/AIDS program)
- Support letter of relevant national programs (TB or HIV/AIDS)
- Details of contact information of focus identified for the proposed research
Interested qualification research institutes through the National TB and HIV/AIDS control programs of the Saarc member states must submit the EOI to research@saarctb.org (including copies in director@saarctb.org) with all support documents by August 10, 2025.
