According to a report from Times of India (TOI), one of the five Indians suffers from vitamin D deficiency and Delhi’s most affected cities. This problem is reduced from age and occupation, from children and athletes to army agents and medical workers.

The findings are from the meta -analysis of the Indian International Economic Relations (icrier) and NGO’s ANVKA Foundation. A report titled “Roadmap to solve Indian vitamin D deficiency” was released on Tuesday.

Which city is the biggest influence?

Analysis shows that many Indian cities are facing serious vitamin D crisis. Vadodara is 89%deficiency, listening to Surat (88%), Jaipur (81%), Kolkata (79%), Mumbai (78%) and Delhi (72%). Young people lack 84%of the age of 25 and 81%of the age of 25-40.

Why is vitamin D important?

Vitamin D is essential for healthy bones. The tribe can lead to children’s rickets and adult Austeo Malasia. The bones are softened. Who is in danger and why is it?

This report says that children, teenagers, pregnant women and the elderly are the most dangerous. The general reason is:

  • Dark skin that requires more sunlight to produce vitamin D
  • Expensive tests and supplements, laboratory test costs $ 1,500, supplements 48–130 are in 10 tablets.

What should I do?

Icrier’s ARPITA MUKHERJEE said the report requires policy change and long -term solutions. “If you fill up the policy gap and support better research, it will help India to meet the sustainable development goals of the UN’s health and nutrition by 2030.
