Freeso County, California (KFSN) – Cases of measles are growing nationwide.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says there are about 200 measles throughout the United States.
Specifically, Texas has 159 cases and shows how quickly the disease can spread in the air.
The California Public Health Department confirmed that there were three identified cases in the state through the Action News, but the number could change.
Medical experts believe that the case is increasing because the vaccine rate has decreased in recent years.
John Zweifler, a medical consultant of the Fresno County Public Health Health, said,
He should spend time to monitor the symptoms when the cultivation period of measles is 7-21 days and exposed.
Unfortunately, there is no treatment for diseases in high infectious air. Zweifler said that symptoms would make people feel like they had a severe cold.
However, there is a step that can be taken to keep the family safely.
Zweifler said, “The vaccine is very effective. Therefore, if you get one shot, the chance will be reduced by 97%.
“The general series for measles is one vaccine in 12-15 months, and the second vaccine is a vaccine between 4 and 6 years old, so the two are 99% effect.”
Most of the events are affecting children under 17 years of age, but there are elderly people who are sick.
Zweifler is estimated to be immunized before 1957 or outside the United States before 1957 or before 1970.
“I think we are responsible for caring for children as parents.” Fortunately, I believed in vaccination.
Thomas works as Phlebotomist. She didn’t affect her family, but she heard about the outbreak of the United States, Thomas was still surprising.
Thomas said, “I think I’m worried about me and see me getting sick.
Experts are to check the vaccination status and contact a medical provider to check the family and see if it is safe from this disease.
