Michigan officially reported measles in the state.
The Ministry of Health and Welfare (MDHHS) and the Oakland County Health Division confirmed the first measles in Auckland County on March 14.
The department announced a separate onset after three cases were confirmed at Mont Kalm County on April 17.

This has been the first measles in Michigan since 2019, and in 2025, a total of eight cases were detected throughout the state.

The onset shows the incidence of three or more cases of sharing infectious sources, according to the disease control and prevention center.
According to the US Department of Health, measles have been found in seven states this year, including Texas, New Mexico, Kansas, Ohio, Indiana, Pennsylvania and California.

Dr. Natasha Bagdasarian, the chief medical manager of MDHS, said that the onset of Michigan emphasizes how and how fast the infectious measles can spread.

MONTCALM COUNTY is said to be related to the larger outbreak in Ontario, Canada.
MDHS has confirmed that there is no new public exposure site to be reported as of April 17.

Measles are very infectious because they occur in most of the nation’s children who have not been vaccinated, especially for those who are not vaccinated.

Common symptoms include heat, cough, red eyes, water with water, runny nose and face and spread to the rest of the body.
MDHS may have symptoms after 7 to 14 days after exposure, and the best way to prevent infection is vaccination.
