Program component

• Non -degree Study: Humphrey Fellows participates in individualized academic programs in one of the 13 chosen American universities. The host agency is selected through a competitive process based on the ability to provide strong academic and professional resources in the field of interest in Fellows.
• Since this program is not a degree, Fellows has the flexibility to design its own -oriented learning process from the constraints of the traditional degree curriculum. Colleagues are connected to faculty advisors and coordinators who take academic courses related to professional goals, participate in seminars, and provide continuous academic and administrative support.

Leadership and professional development

The main features of Humphrey Fellowship are focusing on actual leadership development and professional growth. Colleagues will participate next time.

• Meeting and training workshop
• Technology Construction Seminar
• Expert alliance (PA) -Full-time deployment of US-based organizations for at least six weeks offers actual exposure and practice learning in colleagues.

By supporting professors and campus coordinators, each colleague creates a customized development plan that matches the goal and program goals.

Program period

Fellowship starts in August or early September and continues until the next June (10 months). In some cases, colleagues may need to arrive 8-16 weeks before intensive English education before starting the university program.

All colleagues should try to participate in both English education (in case) and in the school year.

Financial support

Humphrey Fellowship provides comprehensive financial support, including:

• Domestic travel for the necessary program activities

• Professional development allowance
• Computer subsidy (if applicable)

Support family: Fellows can bring your family to a J-2 visa. Dependents cannot join with colleagues during the period of English education or within the first month of arrival. It is necessary to provide evidence of financial resources to support dependents during friendship.

Qualification

The candidate must be a policymaker, manager, or manager of leadership positions as a promise to public services in public or private sectors, including non -governmental organizations. Friendship is competitive and will be awarded according to the excellence and leadership potential of professional and individual qualifications.

All applicants must:

• We own Nepal citizenship
• Employment at the level of intermediate manager policy with the government, NGO or private sector gradually experienced a responsible practical experience.
• As of the deadline for submitting the application, we have a gradual professional experience of at least five years in Nepal. Works performed by volunteer jobs, internships and academic degree requirements are not calculated for the required period of work experience.
• A professional experience is required after a four -year bachelor’s degree or a bachelor’s degree for 2 years or 3 years. Candidates who have two or three years of bachelor’s degree in other fields but do not have a master’s degree cannot apply.

The Humphrey competition is not disclosed as follows:

• Recently graduates (even if there is a serious location)
• Except for English teachers as a foreign language, university teachers and drug abuse prevention and treatment specialists
• He spent a lot of time in the United States, did not return to Nepal for more than three years, and has been responsible for more than four years after returning.
• A person attending American graduate school for more than one year for seven years before August 2026
• Individuals with more than six months in the US for five years before August 2026
• Individuals who participated in the US Government-Sponsored Exchange Program for three years before August 2026
• Among them, individuals with US citizenship or permanent residence are inadequate for J visa.
• Local employees of Nepal’s US mission worked at the State Department or US International Development Institution, including temporary employees, contractors, spouses and stimulus children (do not deserve subsidy for one year after employment and the end of employment).
