How many steps do you need to walk every day to see noticeable results?

Professor Melody Ding of the School of Public Health, who led the study, said 7,000 steps is a somewhat achievable benchmark for people struggling to meet traditional exercise guidelines and provides similar results to 10,000 steps.
“Aiming for 7,000 steps is a realistic goal based on our findings evaluating health outcomes in a variety of areas that have not been previously examined. However, for people who are not yet able to achieve 7,000 steps per day, even small increases in step count, such as increasing steps from 2,000 to 4,000 per day, are associated with significant health benefits. We know that more steps per day can lead to longer lives. We know it has something to do with it, but there’s also evidence that we now walk at least 7,000 steps. “Walking a day significantly improves eight major health outcomes – including a reduced risk of cardiovascular disease, dementia and depression symptoms,” Professor Ding said in a statement.
