Politicians like to cry about the prospects of Medicare’s “bankruptcy”. Medicare is always in the salary tax, so it cannot actually go bankrupt and will support some of the benefits. However, monitoring the depletion date of Medicare’s major trust funds is a good way to measure the financial health and trends of the program.
