This is the 4th day of creativity challenge. How is your brain?
There is a scene with the movie “Shakespeare in Love”, where actor Joseph Fiennes spent about a minute with Gwyneth Paltrow in his backyard and ran to his desk, “Romeo and Juliet.” Muse hit! The passage flows! Aside from historical accuracy, is it not the way we see creativity? Inspired, you leave the race.
When I recently saw the scene, I realized that Shakespeare seemed to work as another world. But many homemade cramps and quill striping are happening. Creativity is a combination of “aha” moments and effort. We ignore the latter quickly and assume that the best ideas are appearing like a butterfly landing on the shoulder.
But bringing the brightest idea is often time and effort. Brian Lucas, associate professor of organizational behavior of Cornell University, teaches students the value of adhering to something. He is called “10 % rule.” Through His studyHe found a tendency to underestimate how creative he could be when he worked. They said, “I leave the idea on the table because they feel like they are over,” he said. But when the research participants think that they are over, they think more amazing when they continue.
Dr. Lucas concluded that suite spots for the most value in your efforts are more than 10 %. Similar to being forced to repeat the muscles twice after feeling Kaput, I think that if you think a little longer, you can get the best results.
If you apply Dr. Lucas’ “10 % Rules” to everyday life, you can see various ways. Perhaps you have stopped one hour on schedule for your project work. Challenge to work for 6 minutes. (You can relax, but do it soon. Dr. Lucas says too much time to confuse the train of your thoughts.) If you are solving the problem at a dinner table such as a certain logistics, you can grab a dessert, grab a dessert and take another short stab. You don’t have to hold a stopwatch. Dr. Lucas said he could loosen at 10 percent of the spaces.
Whatever you are doing, your most creative idea may not come to you with flash. If so, I’m lucky. But even if it feels like a slog, it does not mean that it is not inspired.
