According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, there is an active recall of cold gowns and flu drugs that can be purchased without pre -prescriptions. This is because there is no children’s resistance packaging.
The influenced products are Safetussin max intensity multiple symbolic coughs, colds and flu medicine. The 24 count capet blister packs were sold in the back of the drug as a blue, orange and red cardboard box with a label on the back of the drug. Recalled cold and flu medicine was distributed and sold in HEB, HARRIS-TEEETER and other regional groceries and pharmacies for about $ 11 nationwide from July 2024 to March 2025.
The CPSC said in the presentation, “Safetussin over-counter Cold Medicine includes acetaminophen, which includes acetaminophen, which must be in child energy packaging required by poison prevention packaging.” Packaging is not child resistance.
