Children under 8 years of age should not consume slushs because they are potentially sick, so they should not consume slush.
Researchers at the University College Dublin said that bright ice drinks can cause young people to “glycerol addiction syndrome”, which can lead to loss and hypoglycemia.
Other potential symptoms of “glycerol poisoning syndrome” can contain lactic acid. This occurs when the body produces blood or low potassium with too much lactic acid and low -knife.
Glycerol is a naturally generated alcohol and sugar replacement that helps to maintain the texture by preventing the liquid from freezing the solid.
Glycerol is found in other foods, but is added in a much less amount than slush ice drinks.
that Food Standard Agency (FSA) advises children under 4 years of age. Consumes slush ice drinks containing glycerol.
It is also recommended that children between 5 and 10 years of age are not limited to one slush per day.
But the researchers urged people under 8 years of age to avoid them.
“Clinical and parents should pay attention to the phenomenon, and public health institutions must guarantee a clear message about the fact that children, especially children under 8, should avoid slush ice drinks with glycerol.”
Researchers added, “There is no advantage of nutrition or health of these drinks.” “It is not recommended as part of a balanced diet.”
The study looked at the medical notes of 21 children between 2 and 7 years old in British and Ireland after eating drinks between 2009 and 2024.
All young people needed treatment in the accident and emergency (A & E) departments, and 14 children were in poor body in an hour after drinking slush.
Studies have shown that all 21 children have recovered quickly and were advised not to drink slush.

Only a child in the group did not follow advice, and when I was seven years old, I had symptoms for an hour after drinking a slush.
The researchers said that it is not easy to estimate a safe dose because it is “not transparent” around slush ice drink glycerol concentration.
They said they could contribute to the factors, including whether the intake and drinks were consumed with meals or during high intensity exercises.
