The WHO Technical Advisory Group for the LEPROSY (Tag-LeProsy) acts as a major advisory agency for the issue related to the removal of LEPROSY. Tag-leprosy should provide guidelines for global policies and strategies, including epidemiological, monitoring and implementation, patient treatment, patient management, prevention, research and development, diagnosis and surveillance tools, and a wide range of areas including adjustment with other health programs.
The group was first formed in 2013 and was later rebuilt. According to the NTD roadmap, leprosy is one of the diseases that aims to remove. Global Leprosy Strategy 2021–2030 presents “zero lesrossi” (zero disease, zero disorder disorder, zero stigma and discrimination.
In order to remove the effective implementation of this strategy and support country, continuous technology and strategic advisory inputs are essential to reach removal. As the term of Tag-LeProsy’s term has been concluded in 2025, the goal is to rebuild the group for more periods in September 2025 to August 2028.
LEPROSY’s technical advisory group function
- It provides an independent evaluation of technology and strategic aspects related to the treatment and prevention of leprosy and prevention, including the inclusion of people with social and leprosy.
- Priority of global leprosy programs on technology development, guidelines, and research needs is recommended.
- Provides advice on the planned activities and approaches summarized in the global leprosy strategy and the annual action plan.
- To adjust support to the state to eliminate leprosy to advise who advocates, integration in primary medical services, and cooperation with partners; and
- It is reviewed and recommended for the planning and implementation of the WHO strategy and guidelines for the LEPROSY CARE, Prevention, Digital Tools and Leprosy.
Operation of Technical Advisory Group for LEPROSY
Tags are usually met at least twice a year. Tag meetings can be held directly or in fact. But you can convene additional meetings as needed. The working language of the group becomes English.
The TAG meeting may be held in public and/or closed sessions as determined by the chairman in consultation with WHO.
- (a) Public session: open sessions must be convened for the only purpose for the purpose of exchanging non -confidential information and views, and the observer can attend.
- (b) Closed session: A session that deals with the formula and/or advice of the recommendation for a person that will be restricted to TAG members.
Who can express your interest?
LEPROSY’s technical advisory group will be a multi -sector and will be members with various technical knowledge, technology and experience related to the clinical and public health of leprosy and health systems. About 15 members can be selected.
A person who welcomes the expressions that are interested:
- People who are affected by medical professionals, researchers and leprosy have expertise in the following fields.
- Clinical aspects of treatment and prevention of children and adults
- Public health aspect of treatment and prevention of leprenevatures including disability management
- Laboratory diagnosis and drug resistance
- Providing integrated services in primary medical services
- Global health
- Ethics, equality, human rights and gender, including stigma, discrimination and mental health

After submitting, your expression is reviewed by WHO. Only the selected individuals are informed by the expected large amount of interest.
Important information on selection process and promise conditions
The members of the WHO Advisory Group (AGS) should not have a real, potential or obvious understanding. To this end, the applicant must complete the WHO declaration for the WHO expert, and the choice as an AG member depends on the person who decides that there is no conflict or confirmed conflict (in addition to the WHO’s evaluation of the applicant’s experience, expertise and other motives).
All AG members provide individual expert competencies and do not represent the government, commercial industry, organizations, research, academics or civil society organizations or other institutions, institutions, institutions, or organizations.
