President Donald Trump said that Coca -Cola agreed to use the actual cane sugar in the drinks sold in the United States.
Coca -Cola uses corn syrup in American products, but Trump’s health minister Robert F Kennedy Jr. expressed concern about the health effects of ingredients.
Trump said, “I have been talking about using Coca -Cola and real wand sugar, and I agreed to do so.” Thank you to all of Coca -Cola’s prestigious people. “
The spokesman for Coca -Cola did not explicitly check the recipe adjustment and said, “Thank you for President Trump’s passion.”
Trump said in a post on Wednesday, “This will be a very good movement by them -you will see. It will be better!”
Coke sold in the United States is generally sweet as corn syrup, but in many other countries, Mexico uses wand sugar.
In April, Coca -Cola CEO James Quincey told investors that “we are continuing to reduce sugar in drinks.”
He said, “It is to raise the perception and interest in portfolios that change the recipe and constantly expand using global marketing resources and distribution networks.”
But instead, the decision to use the cane sugar can be left after the aftertaste of American corn farmers.
In the statement, the Corn Corn Players’ Association and CEO John Bode said, “There are no nutrition benefits for thousands of US food manufacturing jobs to pay for the replacement of high fructose corn syrup with cane sugar.”
The US Health Minister and his Healthy Again Movement advocated that companies were related to health problems by eliminating ingredients such as corn syrup, seed oil and artificial dyes.
Kennedy is also critical of the amount of sugar consumed by Americans, and this summer, the nation’s diet plans to update the guidelines.
Trump is a regular drinker of Diet Coke using artificial sweetener aspartam. He was able to provide soda by installing a button on a decisive desk in the oval office.
