On Monday, Colorado lawmakers finally approved the state’s $ 44 billion budget for the next fiscal year.
Due to the complexity of filling $ 1.2 billion in general funds, the budget, which is a month later, does not change much in the final cost.
The Joint Budget Committee, which serves as a meeting committee to solve the difference between the House of Representatives and the Senate version, recommended that the budget would include:
-
R-Cheyenne Wells Lisa Cutter, D-Littleton, and Rod Pelton merchants restored the provisions for jobs, physics and language therapy during the same visit. The amendment has added $ 6.5 million in total funds, including a total of $ 19.5 million to the budget of health care policies and financing.
-
SEN. The Senate 46 of the Faith Winter Senate added $ 959,310 as a cash fund for the Ministry of Public Health and Health and Environment.
The two amendments adopted by the Senate have also been added to the long -term expenditure bill.
The revised 41, provided by Senator LISA Frizell of R-Castle Rock, moved $ 40,676 to the official and the executive office in the Colorado stock office and added one full-time employee. The House of Representatives has passed a similar amendment but not included in the Senate’s amendment.
The Amendment 35, provided by Senator D-Aurora, added a footnote on the judiciary’s court program to set the priority of the judiciary. This is related to the Senate 25-024, which adds 15 judges over the next two years.
The two modifications that were supported by the two chambers did not fail in the final version.
The revision of the R-Colorado Springs Senator Larry Liston would have provided $ 436,616 to provide funds to the National Cybersecurity Center in Colorado Springs University. The lawmakers decided to take the dollar in the correctional program of the correctional bureau. The Conference Committee, however, refused the amendment when the amendment actually found a correctional officer as well as the amendment.
The revision of D-Thornton’s Kyle Mullica Senator and R-Allah’s Cleave Simpson will add $ 5.6 million and $ 5.5 million as general funds to health care policies and primary medical funds in the financial bureau. This fund supports the Community Health Center and other safety net clinics. Funds are awarded based on the number of meaningless patients provided by the institution. The general fund part pays $ 2.5 million in the overtime reserve and $ 3.1 million from the control maintenance trust fund.
The Conference Committee also added a total of $ 131.5 million and $ 400,000 in general funds to the budget for technology and other changes.
The biggest of these changes was $ 94 million in the Colorado State University’s capital construction project, and cash funds increased $ 37.6 million in public safety countries. Measures approved by voters since November impose taxes on firearm dealers, manufacturers and ammunition suppliers.
The increase in general funds is the “true” of the funds for state employee health, life and dental insurance.
The meeting committee report was adopted in 55-9 votes in the House of Representatives. The bill was admitted to the party line 43-21 votes, and JBC members Rick Taggart, R-Grand Junction, the only Republican voted advantageous.
In the Senate, the voting for the re-communication of the Senate Act 206 was 24-11 years old, and JBC member SEN. Barbara Kirkmeyer, R-Brighton was the only Republican cause of voting.
The long legislation is now headed to the governor who signs for 10 days.
The 2025-26 budget is about $ 3.4 billion higher than the 2024-25 budget. Most increase is caused by the high cost of Medicaid.
