Partnerships in a healthy city are a global city network that affects people’s lifestyles and environments and do their best to prevent diseases that cannot be communicated with cancer and diabetes. Bloomberg Philanthropies work together with World Health Organization (WHO) and Global Health Organization Vital Strategies to hold more than 70 members. Helsinki has been part of the network since 2019.
In addition to participating in the summit, the Helsinki market journey includes panel discussions between market markets. The program also includes the invitation reception hosted by the Paris market, the Bloomberg Philanthropies Foundation and numerous meetings with leadership of various city representatives.
Helsinki’s funding and professional knowledge of two projects
Helsinki received support for both projects through the network. The goal of the “safe and active mobility” project held in 2020-2021 was to promote safe and active school trips for children. The project has developed and controlled models at the Suutarinkylä comprehensive school, emphasizing the impact of the building environment on walking and bicycle charm. After the pilot, the lessons learned in the project were also practiced in other schools.
In 2023-2025, Helsinki City, along with the Finnish Health and Welfare Research Institute (THL), aimed to explore the possibility of using new data sources in improving monitoring of diseases without communication and promoting health and welfare. This project helped better understand the health imbalances of urban residents between other postal code areas.
The partnership of Healthy Cyes, supported by Bloomberg Philanthropies Foundation, includes more than 70 cities around the world. In addition to Helsinki, other European cities on the network are London and Barcelona.
The 2025 partnership of Healthy Ctrie Summit will be held in Paris on March 18-21.
