With more than 1,000 websites this year, the government announced that it has made great progress in reducing online gambling and betting.
Ashwini Vaishnaw, the Minister of Electronics and Information Technology, told Lok Sabha that the Federal and state governments should work closely together to solve this problem.
Vaishnaw was emphasized that when the central government was noticed, all actions were immediately taken by the constitution during the question time. “In 2022, only 14 bets and gambling platforms were banned and reached 1097 in 2024. We are continuously working and even receiving a lot of cooperation from society.”
The violent video game and the harmful impact of the Internet gambling have been raised by several MPs. In response to this worry, the minister said that in 2024, 1,097 games and betting websites were banned. He also emphasized how more efficient execution occurred due to better adjustments among many institutions dealing with cyber crimes.
The government is trying to strengthen the legal framework to solve online gambling and related cyber risks, Vashnaw guarantees the House of Representatives.
