LINCOLN, NEB (NEB) (KSNB) -NeBraska aggriculture department of nebraska aggriculture worked with USDA’s animal plant health inspection service and highly pathogenic bird influenza in the backyard of DAWSON County I found a case of (HPAI).
This is the third group of infections infected in central Nebraska, and cases were found in Kearney and Nance County. Earlier this year.
According to a press release sent by the NDA, this brought the total number of Nebraska flocks influenced by four backyards, and in 2025, about 219 birds were shocked.
Chicken keepers must practice good biological security with flocks, including clothes that minimize exposure to wild birds and wash their hands before and after contacting poultry.
HPAI is an infectious virus that is easily spread between the birds through the nasal and eye discharge, as well as infected foods, water and manure.
This virus is spreading as migratory birds are in contact with other algae. Wild birds have some immunity to the disease, but the tamper birds are not.
HPAI symptoms include reducing water consumption, lack of energy and lack of appetite, reduced egg production, soft shells, wrong eggs, nasal secretions, coughing, sneezing, conditions and diarrhea.
HPAI can suddenly die from birds, even if you do not show symptoms. HPAI can survive for weeks in contaminated environments.
